Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton and Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas are among the nominees for the Laureus World Sports Awards.

Geraint Thomas, who is a Tour de France champion and Lewis Hamilton, the F1 world champion, both of them are included in the nominations for the Laureus World Sports Awards.

The British players have been named for Breakthrough of the Year and Sportsman of the Year respectively.

There is a big competition faced by Hamilton from Novak Djokovic the world no. 1 tennis star, great player of basketball LeBron James and Luka Modric, who was a World Cup runner-up.

Next month in a ceremony, which will take place in Monaco, the winners of the award will be disclosed.

Naomi Osaka, who is a Reigning US Open tennis champion and the one who brilliantly defeat Serena Williams a twenty three times Grand Slam winner, nominated alongside Thomas, who is a BBC Sports Personality of the Year winner, in the breakthrough category.

Tiger Woods, who won the season-closing Tour to secure his first win in 5 years in September and the fourteen times major winner of Golf, has been named for Comeback of the Year.

Tennis pair Angelique Kerber and Simona Halep and Simone Biles, who is the American gymnast and the winner of 4 world titles previous year, are also nominated for the award of Sportswoman of the Year.
